FAQ: What does it mean when there are multiple Buybox winners?

In This Article

Overview

The Amazon Buybox, also known as the " Featured Offer", is a small but very visible boxed area placed on the product page. Its sole purpose is to be an easy way for buyers to add the product to their cart and start the buying process. As a seller, it is important to compete and win a share of the buybox as this is proven to lead to increased sales.

This article aims to provide information and have users understand the nature of the buybox and why users would see multiple buybox winners in the Seller Snap User Interface (UI).

What does it mean when there are multiple buybox winners?

There are times when Amazon will decide to award the buybox to more than one seller. There can be up to two Buy Box winners at any time per ASIN, one that is eligible for Prime and one that is not eligible for Prime. This means that when there are two winners, buyers will often see one for each fulfillment method: Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) and Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM). But it is also possible for Amazon to pick 2 FBM sellers, where one is listed as Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP).

Seller Snap's Current Buybox Price column will indicate this:

Seller Snap by default will compete for the fulfillment method the user's listing is under. So If a listing is registered to Amazon as FBM, Seller Snap will compete mainly against other FBM sellers to win the buybox.

Important: Amazon decides on how the buybox is visualized when there are multiple buybox winners. For example, buyers might see the buybox only show the FBM winner, and the FBA winner will have a smaller section below it. In this case, Amazon decides on the rotation in regards to how long the FBM winner gets to be shown as the "main" buybox winner.

Seller Snap also shows if the buybox for a listing was shared within the last 24 hours:
